Researchers from the Mistral project gathered in Barcelona on 27th and 28th November at Palau Macaya to review their final results and formally close the project.
The first day featured presentations on the gut microbiome’s links to both serious and non-serious AIDS events, its role in HIV-1 treatment and prevention, and its influence on vaccine responses and antiretroviral therapies. Additional sessions covered data integration, systems biology, and the impact of antiretroviral treatment on the gut bacterial resistome. The day concluded with an overview of the project’s work in Responsible Research and Innovation.
On the second day, researchers were introduced to Enthera’s microbiome-based patient stratification software, followed by presentations on project management, communication, and exploitation. The meeting ended with a final discussion and formal closure.
In conclusion, the two-day meeting brought together the full range of scientific, technological, and organisational achievements of the Mistral project, offering a clear view of its impact and setting the foundations for future research in the field.
